This 1972 Mercedes-Benz 280SEL 4.5 sedan is finished in white over red leather upholstery, and it is powered by a 4.5-liter V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. It has been completely debugged with an 1800-mile trip without a fault. The mileage is 85k actual miles currently. Rare opportunity to buy a rust free, original Roser leather interior car. Never in any accidents with comprehensive maintenance.

Additional equipment includes wheel covers, disc brakes, power steering, central locking, an AM/FM radio, air conditioning, and a heater. We acquired the car in 2022, and subsequent work included rebuilding the A/C condenser, replacing the timing chain and tensioner, as well as the rear shocks and brake hoses, while the doors, fenders, and rear quarter panels were repainted. paint work is excellent. This W108 280SEL 4.5 sedan is now offered by the selling dealer with the owner’s manual and a clean Wisconsin title.

The car left the factory finished in White Grey, and the doors, fenders, and rear quarter panels, were repainted in preparation for the sale. The car has US-specification headlights, a hood ornament, polished trim, a retractable antenna, and chrome bumpers. The antenna was replaced in May 2022.

The 14″ steel wheels feature body-color covers and are mounted with Hankook Kinergy ST tires. The car is equipped with power steering, and stopping power is provided by power-assisted disc brakes at each corner. The rear shock absorbers and brake hoses were replaced by us.

The cabin features seating surfaces upholstered in red leather along with a color-coordinated dashboard, center console, and door panels. The steering wheel is not cracked, dash is not cracked. wood has been refinished except dash panel. Amenities include a Becker Europa AM/FM radio, power windows, central locking, air conditioning, and a heater. The seats are original Roser with excellent horsehair pads. the leather is still supple front and rear. The interior of the trunk was refinished, and the A/C condenser rebuilt in May 2022. The selling dealer states the HVAC controls are easy to move and work properly.

The two-spoke steering wheel features a chrome horn ring and fronts a 160-mph speedometer, an analog clock that keeps accurate time, and gauges for coolant temperature, fuel level, and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer shows 35k miles. The selling dealer states the odometer was replaced under previous ownership at Mercedes Benz and is documented to be 82k miles.

The 4.5-liter M117 V8 was factory equipped with Bosch fuel injection and was rated at 198 horsepower and 264 lb-ft of torque. Work by the us in preparation of the sale included replacing the timing chain and tensioner as well as the battery. The compression test is documented at reads: 1=150, 2=150, 3=145, 4=160,5=150, 6=150 7=150 8=150 compression ratio 8 to 1. compression good, spark plugs clean.
